I know many of the people visiting my website are retired or just want to retire in Bali, but I know many more are self-employed or running a business.
I have been working online since around 2004 and have recently become more interested in SEO, otherwise known as search engine optimization.
Everyone seems to have an opinion on SEO, some saying it is no longer needed and even people saying “SEO is dead”. I would prefer to say that its image has gotten kind of muddied and it is easy to get confused about what SEO actually is.
Not surprisingly, we focus on how our website looks, designing it ourselves or hiring a web design firm. For sure, appearances are everything and how our website looks is often a reflection of the image we want to convey to our customers.
So while our site might look great, Google “sees” something different. It sees things like the title of our pages and the descriptions of what the pages are about. Things that we or our website designer have not likely optimized.
SEO is something we may focus on for a while, especially when we are getting started with our business, but it is something that is easy to forget about, as we get busy with the day to day stuff of our business.
Like any aspect of our business, even though we know there might be issues, we are too busy to address them. There’s nothing like a fresh pair of eyes taking a look at something we may look at every day and become blind to any problems, which someone new to your business is likely to see.
So let me ask you:
– Are you happy with the number of customers you are getting from your website?
– Were you getting good results and they have suddenly dropped off?
– Are you looking for an edge over your competition?
– Would you be interested in getting a free “once over” of your website and how you might be able to improve your search engine rankings?
If so, then just fill in your details in the form below and I will get back to you.
